About Our Accounting Firm
Whited Seigneur Sams & Rahe CPAs, LLP began in the city of Chillicothe, Ohio in November of 1978 when its founder, Jerry B. Whited, acquired the
practice of Thomas Hughes, a retiring public accountant. In July 1979 Donald R. Seigneur joined Jerry and formed
the partnership of Whited and Seigneur CPAs. Jerry and Don had attended college together at Bowling Green State
University.
Barry Rahe and John R. Sams joined the firm as staff accountants in December 1987 and July 1989 respectively.
They both were promoted to partners in July 1996 and the firm name was changed to Whited Seigneur Sams & Rahe CPAs, LLP. The
firm name was later shortened to WSSR CPAs, LLP which it is known as today. John assumed responsibilities as audit engagement
partner for the firms expanded year round audit service business, while Barry launched the firms payroll check writing business
in addition to duties as a tax partner.
Kathy Alderman and Nathan Baldwin joined the firm in August 1993 and October 1994 respectively. They became partners
of the firm in January 2002. Both are tax partners with Kathy developing specialization in accounting for retail
franchises, business valuation and estate taxation, while Nathan focuses on corporate taxation and medical practice
consulting.
WSSR CPAs, LLP has grown from a sole practice with a staff of 4 in 1978 to its present 6
partners and a staff of more than 30. Services
which once only included the basic tax, financial, and audit have expanded to include more specialized areas.
These services include estate planning, business valuations, payroll check writing, computer consulting, audits of for-profit,
governmental, and not-for-profit entities, and income tax preparation, planning and consulting for all types and sizes of entities.
The firm continues to focus on timely and affordably serving the needs of individuals and small business.
